Stoner to remain testing for HRC in 2015

Former world champ says he needs to get fit for Sepang test

CASEY Stoner has renewed his contract with Honda Racing Corporation to remain testing for the MotoGP team throughout 2015 starting in January.

The two-time world champion is set to begin a two-day test in Sepang with HRC on the RC213V between January 29 and 31, before the first official IRTA pre-season test of the year.

Stoner said: 'After having a long break from riding, it was refreshing to get back on a bike a few months ago.

'Now after a relaxing Christmas and New Year I’m happy to announce that I’ve been speaking to Nakamoto san and we have come to an agreement in continuing our relationship.

'I am currently preparing to ride in Sepang in a few weeks - which will be very different weather and humidity to Motegi - so I need to get myself fit!'

No date has been confirmed for the second test but it is expected to be near the end of the year.

HRC Executive Vice President, Shuhei Nakamoto, said the team was 'fortunate to have a test rider capable to push the RC213V to its limits'.
