FORMER 500cc World Champion Kevin Schwantz is to be reunited with his title-winning Suzuki RGV500 for some demonstration laps on Sunday at the Red Bull Indianapolis Grand Prix.

Schwantz will take the 160bhp missile for a blast around the track 45 minutes before the start of the MotoGP race, reports Crash.net.

“Hearing that V4 two-stroke [engine] running around out here is going to be special,” said the wrinkly-faced Texan.

It's the first time Schwantz will have ridden the bike since his retirement. The former GP winner can't wait to get back in the saddle: “I'm looking forward to it. I've sat on it a couple of times. We've got some new Michelin tyres for it. I'm not going to try and throw down a qualifying lap, that's for sure."

Won't it be great to see a stroker on the pipe once again? Let's hope he pops a few wheelies.
