A KAWASAKI powered CRT bike will wildcard at the Laguna Seca MotoGP and Indianapolis MotoGP rounds.

Not linked to the factory officially, the Attack Performance bike will use a custom-made chassis and a modified Kawasaki ZX-10R engine.

Richard Stanboli, owner of Attack Performance said: “I’ve wanted to design my own chassis for 10 years, so this new class structure, essentially a Superbike engine housed in a prototype chassis, has provided an ideal opportunity for me. We have a great deal of work to do before the first event at Laguna Seca, but I’m no stranger to 20-hour days.”

Steve Rapp, an experienced AMA rider will ride the Attack Performance machine - his first appearance in the MotoGP class.

The By Queroseno Racing CRT bike, ridden by Yonny Hernández is also powered by a ZX-10R engine, using an FTR chassis.

Kawasaki's last official factory entry to MotoGP was the 2008 season, with John Hopkins and Anthony West. In 2009, the Hayate team continued to run the Kawasaki bike with Marco Melandri as the sole rider. Melandri scored a best finish of 2nd place at the French GP, equalling Kawasaki's best MotoGP result.
