Haga to BSB rumours?

RUMOURS have been circulating for the last few weeks that Noriyuki Haga was looking for a ride in the British Superbike championship for the 2012 season.

Over the winter months Haga has been quiet on his plans for 2012, especially after it emerged that he was being replaced at PATA Racing by Lorenzo Zanetti.

The last word on the Japanese rider was that he was in negotiations with a high profile BSB team, but no word on which team this was.

However, this is unlikely to happen as most of the seats have already been taken in the British series and Haga's asking price would be far too high for the teams, especially when the championship is making moves to reduce costs.

Further speculation on Haga's future has the popular rider heading back to his home country to ride in their domestic championship, a last-minute Ducati ride in WSB or retirement.

Haga does have history in the BSB championship, having taken wild-card rides at select rounds on the Renegade Ducati, including the infamous fireball incident at Oulton Park.

It could yet happen, watch this space.
