Over 1,300 motorcyclists help raise £36,000 for Beatson Cancer Charity

More than £36,000 has been raised by motorcyclists as part of the annual Beatson Bikers charity ride out, which began at the Moulsdale Foundation Museum for the first time.

Over 1,300 bikers from across Scotland and other parts of the UK followed a 38-mile route around Glasgow, culminating at the Beatson Cancer Charity centre. 

Amongst the riders taking part was none other than former 500cc Grand Prix rider and three-time British Superbike Champion, Niall Mackenzie. 

Prior to the ride, bikers gathered at Moulsdale Foundation's Classic and Performance Car and Motorcycle Museum, with participants allowed to explore the collection of more than 400 motorcycles and cars.

This also meant visitors could get up close with iconic racing machines associated with riders such as Ian Simpson, Steve Hislop, and Jim Moodie.

Through its work with various charities and organisations over the years, the Moulsdale Foundation and companies owned or controlled by David Moulsdale have helped donate over £36 million to causes in both the UK and overseas. 

The Beatson Cancer Charity offers support to people affected by cancer across the west of Scotland, funding life-saving research, enhancing clinical care and providing a wide range of wellbeing and support services for patients and their families. 

Speaking after the 2026 ride out, Mackenzie said: 

“It was brilliant to see so many riders come together for such a deserving cause, raising vital funds for those affected by cancer. I am proud to have lined up alongside the 1,300 bikers on the start line at the Moulsdale Foundation Museum and have played a small part in this event that will make such an important impact on the work of the Beatson Cancer Charity.”
