ADVENTURE motorcycle fans can get a little closer to the action in 2023, as the Yamaha Ténéré Spirit Experience allows rally fans to live and ride alongside the most famous rally raid events.
The new experience is headed up by Enduro champion and Dakar Racing Team manager Marc Bourgeois on behalf of Yamaha. It will allow 20 lucky Yamaha Ténéré 700 owners the chance to shadow some of the biggest stars in the rally world, as they ride the actual route, and parallel route, even sleeping, eating, and resting alongside the racing team in the bivouac.
The event is being heralded as a 360-degree package for customers and includes everything you need to get you, and your bike, prepared and delivered to the event. Riders can also opt to attend the Ténéré Experience Centre, a place to hone their skills in preparation for the event. MBSM and Yamaha will take care of everything else from start to finish, daily pre-event briefings, logistics, technical assistance, GPS tracker fitment, breakfast, dinner and camping, the rest is all included.
The Yamaha Ténéré Spirit Experience is designed in such a way that riders can take their own bikes out on the adventure, and should you need to upgrade the machine for the task in hand, the organisers will help, be it with special wheels or tyres, navigation equipment or long-range fuel tanks.
Rallies included in the experience for 2023 include the Morocco Desert Challenge in April, Hellas Rally in May, Transanatolia in September, and the Tunisia Desert Challenge in October 2023.
Attendees will be living side-by-side Ténéré World Raid Team riders Alessandro Botturi and Pol Tarrès who will be competing at selected events. When they aren’t present at the event, other top-level guest riders will be standing in.
