LS2 Advant flip-up motorcycle helmet gets full-carbon shell with newest variant

The LS2 Advant X Carbon is the latest variant of LS2's best-selling flip-front motorcycle helmet, with a full carbon shell, including the chin bar.

LS2 Advant x Carbon

The LS2 Advant X Carbon presents an update to LS2’s established flip-front motorcycle helmet, with the inclusion of a new, all-carbon shell.

The LS2 Advant is the brand’s best-selling modular, or flip-front, motorcycle helmet, and the latest variant of the standard model is fairly self-explanatory in the new features it offers.

Primarily, they relate to the shell, which is fully carbon on the LS2 Advant X Carbon; particularly from “high-grade, wide-weave carbon fibre,” according to an LS2 press release. This particular form of carbon fibre allows for the helmet to possess, LS2 says, “high penetration resistance and energy dispersion” characteristics, while remaining lightweight at 1.55kg.

As you might expect from a new variant of what is still quite a new motorcycle helmet, the LS2 Advant X Carbon is ECE 22.06-certified in, of course, both of its possible positions - with the front closed, and with the front opened.

The helmet’s Pinlock visor also lifts automatically with the chin bar, which itself is noteworthy as the only full-carbon chin guard on a helmet of this type.

There is also air intakes in the front and and outlets at the back for ventilation. That air is channelled through the multi-density EPS inner.

The lining is also breathable, as well as being removable and washable, and the cheek pads feature an Emergency Release System.

A micrometric metal buckle improves on-the-move ergonomy and practicality, and a Pinlock insert, spare tinted visor, helmet bag, carrying rucksack and air bag support, for easy cleaning and maintenance, all come as standard.

The Advant X Carbon retails at £379.99 in a plain, solid carbon finish, and, in three graphic options, for £399.99.
