Cardo Systems has announced two new products with two helmet brands - LS2 and Shoei - as well as a new Half Helmet Kit.
With LS2, Cardo has created LS2 Intercom, which is becoming available now for the first time. The German company’s collaboration with Shoei relates to a specific adapter for new helmets of the Japanese brand.
LS24x powered by Cardo
The LS2 product is not totally new, but it is newly launched. ‘LS24x powered by Cardo’, or LS2 Intercom, is the result of LS2’s decision to adopt the Universal Communications Solution (UCS) for its motorcycle helmet intercom.
Designed for ECE 22.06-homologated helmets, LS2 Intercom will be available on the LS2 Vector 2, LS2 Advant, and LS2 Infinity helmets.
At the moment, LS2 Intercom is made available as a factory-fit option. Later this year, Cardo says it will be possible to add the system post-purchase.
LS2 Intercom is able to connect up to four riders via Bluetooth. The device has a range of 0.75 miles (1.2km), features Sound by JBL, Natural Voice Operation, Open Bluetooth intercom (OBi) and “is fully waterproof,” the press release reads. It also has auto-reconnecting Bluetooth, with the intention of eliminating connection anxiety.

Dedicated Shoei adapter
The new dedicated Shoei adapter from Shoei is more or less exactly as it says. It’s an adapter for Cardo intercom systems intended to increase the ease of fitment to Shoei helmets.
The adapter is available for the Shoei Neotec 2, Shoei GT-Air 2, and the Shoei J-Cruise 2 helmets, and is compatible with the Cardo Packtalk Edge, Cardo Packtalk Neo and Cardo Packtalk Custom devices.
The adapter utilises the existing mounting point present on the three aforementioned Shoei helmets.
The Shoei-Packtalk adapter kit is available from all Cardo Systems dealers with an MSRP of €20.95 (around £18).
Cardo Packtalk Edge Half Helmet Kit
Finally, the Cardo Half Helmet Kit is specifically designed to improve the fitment of exclusively the Cardo Packtalk Edge device to ‘open-face’ or ‘half-shell’ helmets.
The kit features what Cardo describes as “an all-in-one design,” which integrates the device cradle. Additionally, the kit provides a shorter speaker cable and a boom microphone that is pre-installed as a single unit and which is pre-connected to the cradle.
The Cardo Packtalk Edge Half Helmet Kit is available from all Cardo Systems dealers with an MSRP of €69.95 (around £60).
