Peugeot launches new 50cc gearbox-powered XP6
Peugeot has given its 50cc segment a refresh with the arrival of a new gearbox-powered XP6 model.

Peugeot has teamed up with Sherco to reveal its new 50cc gearbox-powered XP6, which will be made available in three different models.
The new moped is reportedly set to arrive in France from January, while its official unveiling could potentially take place at next month’s EICMA show in Milan, Italy.
If you’ve recently delved through the French manufacturer’s catalogue, you will see that it’s heavily dominated by entry-level scooters, as well as higher-powered models such as the XP400 GS ES and the Metropolis 400 SW.
There’s also the PM01 motorcycle which comes in a 125 or 300cc flavour in France, but only the 125cc model is currently available in the UK.

The new XP6 models will feature a single-cylinder Minarelli AM6 2-stroke engine with a Dell'Orto carburetor. They will also benefit from a six-speed gearbox and liquid-cooled system.

Two of the three will be supermotard models, with the standard version receiving a steel cradle frame, telescopic forks and 17-inch wheels. From there, a 300mm front brake disc is gripped by a single-piston caliper.
Next up in the line-up is the XP6 Supermotard R, which gets inverted forks, spoked rims and a two-piston caliper at the front. Finally, we have the XP6 Enduro, which comprises 21-inch front and 18-inch spoked rear wheels, dedicated off-road tyres and 41mm inverted forks.
The new range is tailored towards young riders aged 14 and older, but we’re still awaiting further pricing details.
