New Honda CB1000F displayed alongside vintage race bikes at European events
Honda Motor Europe France teams up with HRC to showcase new CB1000F alongside vintage race bikes.

Honda’s new CB1000F has been publicly displayed in France as part of a collaboration between Honda Motor Europe France and HRC, with the bike recently appearing at the Le Mans MotoGP.
The bike was also featured at the Sunday Ride Classic 2026, which took place on May 16-17 at the Paul Ricard circuit. The new modern-retro was showcased alongside various iconic race bikes, with former two-time world champion Freddie Spencer headlining both events.
The CB1000F, which gets its engineering inspiration from the 750 Daytona, was joined by a CB750F and Spencer’s championship-winning NSR500. Replicas of the RC174 and RC166 Isle of Man race bikes were also featured.

Speaking about the NSR500, Spencer said:
“The 1985 NSR500 changed everything. It redefined how we approached geometry, testing, and rider connection. Riding it again feels like going home. It’s more than a bike. It’s part of me, and it shaped generations of racing machines after it.”
The Sunday Ride Classic included competitive races, parades and demonstration runs, while attendees could take part in the fun with test rides available.

One of the best female racers of her generation, Ana Carrasco, was also part of the line-up as she too rode the legendary NSR500.
Carrasco spoke about her experience, calling it a “once-in-a-life” opportunity:
“I feel more nervous about riding this bike than I do before a race. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime moment. Today we rely on data and electronics. But with this machine, it’s all about feeling and connection. That’s a real challenge, and a privilege.”
As well as showcasing the new CB1000F, and staging demonstration runs, the events also delved into Honda’s engineering heritage, with figures from the Honda Collection Hall offering an insight into the painstaking work that is needed to preserve and operate historic motorcycles.
