Triumph's new Thunderbird LT

1699cc parallel-twin with retro-style

TRIUMPH have revealed their Thunderbird LT, essentially a more touring, more retro, more chrome version of the Thunderbird Commander.

It features a screen, additional headlights, saddle bags and a pillion backrest. It shares the same engine as the Commander, a 1699cc eight-valve, DOHC engine with an uneven 270° firing interval and long-stroke design producing 93bhp at 5,400rpm and 111lbft of torque at 3550rpm.

Triumph claim the LT is running on the world's first white-walled radial tyres. Fifty-six spoke wheels help give the LT a classic look.

Triumph claim 'it's all about the vibe of a premium classic touring cruiser'. Hopefully there's not too much 'vibe' from the monster parallel-twin engine.

Available from authorised Triumph dealers in Spring 2014, the Thunderbird LT is available in Caspian Blue / Crystal White or Lava Red / Phantom Black.
