Triumph Daytona 765 Moto2 and Tiger 800 break cover

The Triumph Daytona 765 Moto2 and the 2020 Triumph Tiger are spotted out in public for the first time

Having tantalised us all with the confirmation a Triumph Daytona 765 inspired by engine currently powering the Moto2 World Championship was indeed on its way, images of it and the new 2020 Triumph Tiger 800 have emerged in the metal.

With the original announcement accompanied by a teasing artists impression, these shots credited to ‘spy in the bushes’ specialists BMH Images reveal the production-ready Triumph Daytona 765 Moto2.

Despite the unflattering background and carry kit lessening the impact of what is one of the year’s most anticipated new bikes, the shots show a it will certainly be an attractive sportsbike.

What can we expect from the Triumph Daytona 765 Moto2?

The spit-shined final version gets its world premiere under the lights on Saturday 23 August during the British MotoGP at Silverstone and we will likely have to wait until then before performance figures are unveiled. However, Triumph is promising the highest-ever specification and a limited-edition race paint scheme.

Moreover, the chassis will be tuned to emulate that ‘racer for the road’ selling point, with Triumph insisting it is the closest you can get to a ‘genuine Moto2 factory ride’.

The Daytona 765 represents an upgrade for the popular supersport package, which has enjoyed success in its current 675 guise since going on sale in 2006.

Triumph Tiger on the prowl too

In what proved to be a proper ‘family day out’ for the British firm, the new Triumph Tiger 800 was also unsheathed for all to see.

The bike is set for a refresh after the latest version went on sale in 2018 in order to keep up with an ever-evolving Adventure market.

Indeed, it’s been a busy 2019 for Triumph with the launch of the Daytona 765 – plus the move into Moto2 as the control engine supplier – and the launch of the new Rocket 3 range.

Comments The new Daytona Moto2™ 765 comes with the highest specification ever seen on Triumph’s iconic championship-winning racer, with new top spec Brembo Stylema brakes, the new generation of track-ready Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP tires, and race-proven high spec Öhlins front & rear suspension. And on top of its highest ever specification and enhanced engine capacity, it’s now even lighter than the previous generation Daytona, for greater agility and feel.
