PIAGGIO has shown the first images and details of their latest electric scooter, the ONE, ahead of its debut at the Beijing Motor Show on the 28th of May 2021.
Targeted directly at the younger ‘Tik Tok’ generation (which older generations may refer to as ‘that there Tok Tok video app’), the Piaggio ONE electric scooter aims to focus on ease of riding, lightness, and maximum riding pleasure and enjoyment.
The historic Italian brand hopes that youngsters will see the ONE as the coolest way to commute, harnessing electric power for maximum eco-friendly transport.
Listed features on the ONE include removable lithium-ion batteries, two motor maps, keyless ignition with remote start system, and even ‘spacious underseat storage space’ - something that isn’t common on electric commuter scooters.

Price is yet to be confirmed, but we hope it comes in at a much cheaper price point than the Elettrica. If Piaggio seeks to directly engage with the younger generation, they’ll have to realise their pockets aren’t quite as deep as the high-earning city-commuters that may eye up the Elettrica.

“The Piaggio ONE will be available in several versions offering different powers (moped and motorcycle) and different ranges, all powered by an electric motor whose lithium-ion batteries can be easily extracted for recharging at home or in the office.”
That last quote is particularly interesting, and points at the fact that Piaggio aren’t stopping at the ONE - with varying powers and styles to be made available in the future.
