Available for 2022: new Kawasaki Z900RS SE ‘Yellow Ball’

New 2022 Kawasaki Z900RS SE model to be made available in sought-after 1970s colour scheme ‘Yellow Ball’, along with a high-spec parts list.

Kawasaki Z 900 RS SE ‘Yellow Ball’ 2022

First seen on the original Kawasaki Z1 Super Four in 1972, the latest incarnation of the Z900RS will be available in an SE edition with ‘Yellow Ball’ livery and some top-spec parts on their Modern Classic heritage range.

It’s not just styling that’s being revised in the newest variation of the popular Z900RS theme, the modifications and additional spec of the SE model will stay true to the tuning of enthusiasts back in the day - including updates to the suspensions and braking components.

An Öhlins S46 rear shock with preload adjust and large ø46 mm piston pairs a 41mm inverted gold front fork, with both hoping to create an ideal balance of front/rear poise and feel across the whole range of suspension travel.

Brembo twin 300mm front discs are set with Brembo M4.32 radial-mounted monobloc calipers, and a small diameter Nissin radial-pump master cylinder (down to 17.5mm from 19.1mm on the standard model) through stainless-steel braided lines for consistently greater stopping power and linear lever progression.

Cosmetically, the Z900RS SE feature the go-faster RS lettering of the model logo on the side covers and finished in a striking red, and topped with tasty gold multi-spoked wheels.

Hoping to pull on the heartstrings of dedicated Z1 fans, as well capture the imagination of the ever-growing retro-sport fans, the ‘Yellow Ball’ paint scheme is recognisable with its distinctive classic style. It’s a bike Kawasaki will hope captures the hearts of the modern classic scene, continuing their decades of Z heritage.

Kawasaki Z900RS SE price

Price is yet to be confirmed by Kawasaki, but it may be above the £11,349 Z900 RS Performance model considering the ‘Special Edition’ moniker.
