The 2024 KTM 390 Adventure builds on the model refresh of 2023, with little more than a new selection of paint options setting the new model year apart from the old.
Keeping its 19-inch front wheel and 17-inch rear wheel for 2024, and its established 373cc single-cylinder motor’s 44bhp and 27lb ft (37Nm) outputs, the new KTM 390 Adventure is best differentiated from last year’s by looking at the paint.
On this front, there are two new options, but not new colours themselves. KTM sticks to the orange and black, and grey and white paint schemes that have become the brand’s traditions by now, just in updated patterns for this year.
The bike retains its WP Apex suspension with compression and rebound adjustability, lean-sensitive ABS and traction control, 320mm front and 230mm rear brake discs, Offroad mode riding mode, and 14.5-litre fuel tank.
The 2024 KTM 390 Adventure is expected in UK dealers from February 2024, with a £6,599 OTR price.
2024 KTM 390 Adventure SW
One of the major changes for the 2023 KTM 390 Adventure was the introduction of spoked wheels, and the immediate impression is that 2024 has dropped this. Only tubeless cast alloys will be available on the 2024 KTM 390 Adventure, but the 2024 KTM 390 Adventure SW (presumably ‘Spoked Wheel’) will keep the spokes.
The SW is billed as the more off-road-ready model, but its full details haven’t yet been released. Certainly, it will have the same base as the standard 390 Adventure, but how much further it will go than the spoked wheels and rally-inspired CTG is so far uncertain. For example, the KTM website says the SW’s WP Apex suspension is “reworked”, but it does not detail how it is reworked compared to either the standard 2024 390 Adventure or those of previous years.
Other than the supposedly reworked suspension, the bodywork, frame, and engine all look the same, and the TFT is still five inches.
