National Motorcycle Museum heads to Goodwood with a slice of British biking history
Historic British motorcycles from the National Motorcycle Museum collection are heading to Goodwood this summer.

The UK's biggest collection of British motorcycles is heading to Goodwood Festival of Speed this week, with the National Motorcycle Museum taking a selection of historic machines to one of the country's biggest motoring events.

The Solihull-based museum will once again have a presence at the Goodwood Festival of Speed (FoS), giving visitors the chance to get up close to some of the bikes that helped shape Britain's motorcycling story. FoS runs from July 9 to 12 and is expected to attract hundreds of thousands of visitors across the four days.
While Goodwood is often dominated by the latest hypercars, Formula 1 machinery and hillclimb specials, the National Motorcycle Museum's stand offers something a little different, shining a light on the bikes and brands that built Britain's reputation as a motorcycling powerhouse.

The museum itself houses more than 1,000 motorcycles from over 170 marques, making it the largest collection of British motorcycles anywhere in the world. The collection spans everything from pioneering early machines through to race bikes and iconic road models that many riders will remember from their own bedroom and garage walls.
For visitors already heading to Goodwood, it offers an opportunity to see some genuinely important pieces of British motorcycling history without making the trip to the museum's home in Solihull.

And if seeing a handful of bikes at FoS whets the appetite, the museum's annual Museum LIVE event returns on October 24 to 25, once again opening the doors free of charge and bringing together guest speakers, displays and plenty of two-wheeled attractions for enthusiasts.
