Adventure motorcycle registrations grow by 41 per cent in July

2026 has so far been a strong year for motorcycle sales in the UK, which continued in July, according to the latest statistics provided by the Motorcycle Industry Association (MCIA).

The adventure segment has played a key role in the ongoing growth month-to-month vs 2025, and that was also the case in July. 

Adventure motorcycle registrations were up by a staggering 41.8 per cent compared to the same month in 2025. Year-to-date, adventure motorcycle sales are also holding strong, with an overall increase of 26.2 per cent.

The naked motorcycle segment also flourished in July, with registrations growing by 24.5 per cent compared with July 2025. Not far behind that was the touring segment, with monthly registrations growing by 18.2 per cent. 

Year-to-date registrations for the entire motorcycle segment have grown by 16.1 per cent, while YTD scooter sales are up by 15.4 per cent. 

In terms of individual models, the best-performing bike in July 2026 was the Honda CB125F, which sold 185 units in the naked category. That was then followed by the CB1000GT which sold 141 units, while third place went the way of the GB350S, meaning Honda finished the month with the three best-selling motorcycles. 

Speaking about the continued signs of growth, as well as what the motorcycle industry needs from the new government going forward, MCIA CEO, Tony Campbell, said:

“July’s market reinforces the important role mopeds, motorcycles and other L-Category vehicles play here in the UK, with demand remaining positive despite ongoing economic challenges for both consumers and businesses.

“With a new leadership at the helm of Government, we are working to ensure that the sectors’ needs are supported and the Government responds positively to the on-going rider licence review.  

“A renewed focus on transport, access and mobility from this Government is welcomed but for this opportunity to be fully realised, mopeds, motorcycles and other L-Category vehicles must be central to the conversation.”
