The bike was fully restored by the Californian Guzzi specialist Cycle Garden in 2010, and underwent another engine rebuild in 2022. The latter overhaul was apparently required due to an overzealous stuntman ringing the bike’s neck during a film shoot for a Moto Guzzi commercial that aired on YouTube.

While the bike was being fettled by Cycle Garden, they graced the internals with high compression 88mm pistons (making the bike 955cc), and a fully balanced T3 crankshaft for a smoother delivery. The paint was applied on a silver base coat and topped with a burgundy candy top coat to match the original Guzzi colour. The matching numbers bike also has a restored seat featuring the original pan, as well as restored gauges. It still retains some of the original features found on the V7 Sport of this era, like an under-seat light and the cross-laced wheels.

According to the listing, the bike cost more than $30,000 to restore, and it looks like Mr McGregor wants to recoup that cost (and then some) as the bike is currently on eBay with a price of $46,000 (or best offer) attached to it.

You can check out the listing for yourself over on eBay.
