The new MotoGP 26 video game is set to arrive in stores on 29 April, and it will do so with plenty of new features and gameplay modes.

Italian video game developer, Milestone, says MotoGP 26 will give gamers more control over their bike, “especially in tricky situations such as banking and turn exits”.

The gaming company also says that “improvements of the riders’ movements and animations” have been made, while a new weight management system has been implemented.

An updated physics system will offer better handling through corners, according to Milestone, while also giving players the chance to make micro corrections to their bike’s trajectory, even during corner exit.

The new rider ratings, which will display the strengths and weaknesses of each rider, will be updated throughout the season in line with the real-world performances from MotoGP’s riders.

Then there’s the new collectible card packs, with Milestone saying more packs will be unlocked the more you play. The collection also contains cards with different levels of rarity.

Last year’s MotoGP 25 allowed gamers to race among the Tuscan hills and the Alps whenever playing the video game outside of career mode. Those locations will return as part of the new game. Plus, additional venues have been added.

The fictional Canterbury Park, set in England, is now part of the game, with motard (supermoto), flat track and minibikes available to race. Players will also be able to improve their skills and learn every MotoGP track by racing with production bikes.

Also outside of the main race weekends in this year’s game is the new road bike practice mode, which will feature production bikes from at least three manufacturers – we’ve noted Ducati, Yamaha, and KTM so far.

A key component of MotoGP 26 career mode is the paddock feature. That’s where gamers will get a real feel for what the professionals go through in MotoGP, with things like press duties. This includes in-game press conferences where you will have different options to choose from, including challenging your rival.

MotoGP 26 will be available from 29 April for PlayStation5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch2, Nintendo Switch, ROG Xbox Ally, ROG Xbox Ally X, and on PC via Steam and the Epic Game Store.
