Ruroc has pulled the covers off the new EOX2.0 motorcycle helmet, the latest version of its flagship sport-touring lid. It’s an update aimed squarely at riders piling on the miles, with a focus on comfort, tech and a few fresh ideas on the safety front.

At the heart of the helmet is a reworked interior designed to make long days in the saddle a bit less wearing. The liner now uses Merino wool, which is claimed to improve moisture management and temperature regulation while keeping things a little fresher over time. It’s also 25 per cent thinner than before, which should help with overall fit, while reshaped cheek pads aim to keep the lid planted when the pace picks up. Ruroc also says the new construction helps cut wind noise, something touring riders will appreciate after a few hours on the motorway.

Safety tech is another big part of the story, and while The shell sticks with a quad-composite mix of carbon fibre, nylon, fibreglass, and Kevlar, inside the lid sits protection from Rheon. It’s a material engineered to react to both linear and rotational forces during an impact, helping dissipate energy that could otherwise be passed on to the rider.

Another interesting addition is the built-in RFID-based Smart Medical ID. The idea is simple enough: key medical details can be stored in the helmet and accessed by first responders if the worst happens. It’s not something you’ll ever want to rely on, but as passive safety tech goes, it’s a neat piece of integration, and becoming more of a common feature on several top-line lids.

Fastening the helmet is still handled by the magnetic system from Fidlock. In theory, it allows you to clip the chin strap together quickly, even with gloves on. In practice, though, it’s not always the most intuitive solution when you’re wearing thick winter gloves, and a more conventional setup would arguably be easier to manage.

Communication is handled by the optional Shockwave system, developed with Cardo Systems. It links up to 15 riders with a claimed range of around 1.2km, keeping group rides connected without needing extra add-ons.

The EOX2.0 arrives with a wide range of graphics, from exposed carbon finishes to more elaborate retro-inspired paint schemes. As before, the brand is leaning heavily into bold styling.

The helmet is fully homologated to ECE 22.06 and DOT standards and is available now through Ruroc’s website. For riders looking for a tech-heavy touring lid with a distinctive look, the EOX2.0 is clearly aimed right at that brief.
