KTM unveils 450 SX-F Factory Edition and 2018 Supercross line-up

54 years 8 monthsKTM has announced its 2018 US Supercross team at the same time as pulling the wraps from a 450 SX-F Factory edition.
At KTM USA’s new Supercross test facility, in Murrieta, California yesterday, the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Team, Troy Lee Designs/Red Bull/KTM and Rocky Mountain ATV/MC – WPS – KTM teams and riders were announced, and the KTM 450 SX-F Factory Edition was revealed.
For 2018, the KTM Factory Racing Team, overseen by Roger De Coster and trained by Aldon Baker, will wlcome Broc Tickle and Frenchman Marvin Musquin, who will be racing aboard the new KTM 450 SX-F Factory Edition MY2018.
The same 450 SX-F Factory Edition as raced by the factory team, will be available to buy in limited numbers in America from the end of December. It boasts new bodywork, a revised chassis, new suspension settings with a new triple clamp design, an improved cooling system with new radiators, new exhaust, and a revised engine with a more compact cylinder head offering an improved power-delivery. Other features include Red Bull KTM Factory Racing graphics, orange anodized triple clamps, Hinson factory clutch cover, D.I.D Dirt Star rims, factory seat with Selle Dalla Valle logo and a floating front disc.
The Troy Lee Designs/Red Bull/KTM team will continue to act as the official KTM 250 factory team, helping to launch the sport’s riding stars. The 2018 line-up will comprise: rookie Supercross racer Sean Cantrell, rising star Jordon Smith, and seasoned 250 class veterans, Shane McElrath and Alex Martin. Tyler Keefe will continue to oversee the team while Jessy Nelson will maintain his position as brand ambassador.
Finally, the Rocky Mountain ATV/MC – WPS – KTM team, will continue its association with KTM for 2018, running Blake Baggett and Benny Bloss in the 450 class for both AMA Supercross and Pro Motocross next season as well as two riders - Dakota Alix and Anthony Rodriguez - aboard 250cc machinery.
