Chinese-owned Morbidelli has revealed the new NR125X, which arrives as a retro-styled naked designed for city riding, but can it do more?

The new bike is powered by the same 125cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine that’s housed by its fully naked sibling, the F125, which Morbidelli classifies as a streetfighter.

It produces 14bhp at 9,500rpm and 8Ib-ft of torque at 8,000rpm. Its engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox and standard slipper clutch.

Sporting a long single seat which gives the NR125X a scrambler appearance, the new model features a high-mounted fender, full LED lighting, and turn signals that are extended off the front headlight.

In terms of technology, the NR125X makes use of a LCD display that shows off basic information such as your speed, fuel level, and gearing.

Moving on to the suspension, the NR125X comprises 33mm upside-down telescopic front forks with 130mm of travel. At the rear is a preload-adjustable Pro-Link shock absorber.

Stopping power is handled by a two-piston calliper that grips onto a 260mm floating disc up front, while the rear features a 220mm rear disc and single-piston calliper setup. Front-wheel ABS comes as standard.

The NR125X is available in three colourways, all of which can be seen sporting CST dual-sport tyres on the company’s official website.

It also has a curb weight of 143kg and a seat height of 795mm. Additionally, ground clearance is set at 170mm, while the new model can hold up to 17.5 litres of fuel. Morbidelli says the new NR125X has a maximum top speed of 102km/h, or around 63mph.

Pricing has not yet been confirmed, but we will update this story when that becomes available.
