Michael Rutter has made a full recovery after sustaining multiple injuries at the 2025 Isle of Man TT, as the BSB team owner rode a Honda RVF750 RC45 in the Classic TT parade lap.

Earlier this summer, Rutter suffered brutal injuries to his spine after crashing out of race two in the Supertwin class. Rutter, who was riding a Bathams Yamaha R7, also suffered a fracture to his ankle as part of the horrific accident.

The fractures in his back were between the L2 and L5 vertebrae, and Rutter was subsequently transferred to the Walton Unit at Aintree Hospital in Liverpool.

But the road racing legend has, in typical motorcycle racer fashion, managed to shake off the injuries and get back on a bike immediately. Rutter’s first appearance included taking part in the Classic TT parade lap on Wednesday evening, August 27.

A statement from the official Michael Rutter Racing Facebook account said: “Well this is a sight we have been really looking forward to. Our team owner Michael Rutter got back on a bike for a parade lap of the TT course this evening.

“From every single person who is part of Bathams AJN Racing, Michael’s family and of course Michael himself, we want to say a massive thank you to all the Marshalls, air ambulance and medical staff who have helped Michael on his road to recovery and of course all our supporters for the many kind messages of well wishes.

“Also, a special mention to Alpinestars and Shoei Helmets UK for undoubtedly preventing much worse injuries following his double impact during the Supertwin race at this year's TT. Thank You.”

Rutter is a seven-time TT race winner and he’s also claimed wins at the Macau Grand Prix, North West 200 and in the British Superbike Championship.
