Like many of RE’s 650 models, the Conti GT shares many similarities to another one of the brand’s middleweight machines, that being the Interceptor 650.
Both bikes use the same steel tubular double cradle frame, which houses an air-cooled 648cc parallel-twin engine and its 270-degree crankshaft configuration. The Conti GT and Interceptor both produce 47bhp and 38 lb ft of torque as a result.
The key differences between the two bikes is centred around the styling and clip-on handlebars, which give the retro cafe racer Conti’ GT a slightly more aggressive, leant-forward riding position.

The Conti GT’s braking system features a 320mm single front disc that’s gripped by a twin-piston calliper. At the rear is a 240mm rear disc and single-piston calliper. The suspension setup comprises a non-adjustable 41mm telescopic fork and preload-adjustable twin rear shock with ‘piggyback’ external reservoirs.
