Isle of Man TT organisers cancel first day of racing due to weather conditions
The first race day of the 2026 Isle of Man TT has been cancelled due to low clouds on the Mountain Course.

After two one-hour delays, Isle of Man TT organisers have decided to cancel day one of racing around the iconic Mountain Course.
The delays were caused by low clouds which have persisted throughout the morning, and as a result of the conditions, race one of the Superstock TT has been postponed.
The RL360 Superstock Race 1 was due to begin at 11am before the first one-hour delay was confirmed. Pushed back to midday, the race was then scheduled to begin at 1pm following a second delay.

With conditions deteriorating as of 11:30am BST, the three-lap race will now be rescheduled, although TT organisers are yet to confirm when that will be.
TT organisers have provided a brief statement regarding the cancellation of Saturday’s racing, saying:
“The Clerk of The Course has confirmed that due to low cloud and deteriorating weather conditions around the course, there will be no race action taking place today. A revised schedule will be issued in due course.”
Racing is now set to begin on Sunday, 31 May, with the Superbike TT, before Monday’s scheduled rest day. That’s unless weather conditions play a factor once again.

Initially, the first Sidecar TT race was also scheduled for today, 30 May. However, TT organisers suspended the class for the remainder of the 2026 event on Thursday. This decision was taken following an investigation into a series of crashes that left multiple competitors injured and in hospital.
Maria Costello was one of the competitors injured in a sidecar incident, as well as pre-event favourites Ryan and Callum Crowe.
