Isle of Man TT hit with further delays after road traffic incident
The 2026 Isle of Man TT has been hit with another delay after a road traffic incident was reported shortly before roads were due to close.

Organisers of the Isle of Man TT have confirmed a one-hour delay to the start of Friday’s triple-header, which includes the Senior TT race.
The delay has been caused by a road traffic incident that occurred this morning ahead of the second Supersport TT race. Roads were due to begin closing at 9am BST, although that has now changed to 10am. The Full TT Mountain Course will now be closed off at 11am, before racing is due to start at 12:45pm.

A statement from TT organisers said:
“Due to a Road Traffic Collision that occurred on the Mountain Section this morning, the Clerk of the Course has confirmed a 1-hour delay to today’s schedule.
“All roads on the TT Mountain Course will now close at 11:00. Please note the Mountain Road remains closed. Free Practice is now scheduled to start at 11:30.”
This latest delay is the first of its kind at the 2026 event, as previous race delays were caused by low clouds and poor weather. Racing at the TT was due to begin last Saturday with the Superstock Race 1, which was eventually postponed until Tuesday of this week. It, along with Race 1 of the Sportbike class, were then removed from Tuesday’s line-up as part of a revised schedule that also included the Senior TT being brought forward from Saturday to today.

But with more poor weather frustrating TT organisers on Thursday, Race 1 of the Superstock class was cancelled from this year’s event altogether.
Despite the one-hour delay to today’s action, all three races are still expected to be completed thanks to a breakthrough in the weather. Following the Supersport Race 2 will be the Sportbike Race 1 at 3:15pm, before the Senior TT gets underway at 5:15pm.
