Michael Dunlop has added yet another victory to his glittering road racing career by winning his 35th race at the Isle of Man TT.

Since the TT returned following a two-year hiatus in 2020 and 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, there’s only been one name that’s stood atop the Supersport podium. That name is Michael Dunlop, with the Ulsterman winning the last ten races in the class.

Beyond the final result itself, it’s the level of dominance he’s showing that is perhaps the biggest achievement. Earlier this week Dunlop won the first Supersport race by just over 24 seconds from Honda Racing UK’s Dean Harrison. Today, that margin rose to over 26 seconds, again to Harrison.

Third was Peter Hickman, who was also third during the Supersport Race 1, although fourth place did see a change as Mike Browne managed to get the better of Paul Jordan, who was fourth in Race 1.

Dunlop’s victory was also another indication that the Ducati Panigale V2 is proving to be one of the best bikes in the supersport field, as Jordan (fifth place) and Ian Hutchinson (tenth place) were also riding Panigale V2 machinery.

No other bike had three top-ten finishers in today’s race, with the Honda CBR600RR, Triumph Street Triple 765 RS, and Suzuki GSX-R750 all accounting for two top ten finishes each, respectively.

A big challenge for Dunlop will be to try and replicate his supersport success later today in the Senior TT. Dunlop struggled with setup issues during last weekend’s Superbike TT, a race that was dominated by Harrison, who will start this afternoon’s Senior TT as the clear favourite.

Below are the top 15 finishers from today’s Supersport Race 2.
