Known for going all-out with its replica helmets, some of which have been based on the lids used by current riders in MotoGP, HJC has now unveiled a new Red Bull Austin GP II helmet.

The new lid is a clear nod to the American Grand Prix that takes place in Austin, Texas, a Grand Prix that is traditionally title-sponsored by Red Bull. HJC is also a partner of Red Bull, as the company features a special Oracle Red Bull Racing lid in its cycling helmet range.

The new Red Bull Austin GP II design has been added to the brand’s popular RPHA 12 model, with its design taking after the Red Bull Austin GP I. On that occasion, the design was fitted to the company’s RPHA 1 helmet, which is the flagship race helmet from HJC.

The new lid is a limited-edition helmet that celebrates the history, and spirit of the Circuit of the Americas, and features Red Bull’s Grand Prix of the Americas' signature branding on both sides. The shell of the helmet also has deep metallic sections featuring red and blue streaks.

The RPHA 12 is designed for both track and street use and is certified to ECE standards. It has also been exclusively tested at HJC’s wind tunnel test laboratory to improve the aerodynamics.

Also part of the new line-up is a Fabio Quartararo replica helmet, with the Yamaha rider one of three MotoGP stars that’s in partnership with the brand. The other two are KTM’s Brad Binder and Miguel Oliveira.

The all-new HJC RPHA 12 Red Bull Austin GP ll helmet is currently available at authorised HJC dealers and online retailers, with a price of €649.90 (around £560).
