There is certainly no shortage of motorcycle classifieds around if you’re looking for them but once in a while we come across one that really catches our eye… and this is one such moment.
Here is a Honda CBR1000RR available in full racing specification for under £30,000. Impressive, but maybe not unusual – there are plenty of Hondas out there which have smoked a few tyres around racing circuits – but we reckon this one is a particularly impressive.
This is a Honda CBR1000RR SP2 that was raced hard as recently as the 2018 WorldSBK Championship and it comes with the full WorldSBK specification to go with that unique livery.
Pitched as ‘ideal for racing, track days and collections (not the road…) the Honda CBR1000RR SP2 was campaigned by the TripleM team as the official satellite choice to run alongside the Red Bull Ten Kate Honda semi-factory outfit.
Over the course of the season it was raced by PJ Jacobsen and then Florian Marino, though the latter – who was the last person to turn a quick wheel on this machine - did break his leg competing at the Argentine WorldSBK round.
Since then the team, which competed in Superstock 1000 before 2018, has maintained a low profile and didn’t compete in 2019 but the machine has instead emerged for those who want something particularly special to ride on track days, or maybe even race.
