WATCH: Exclusive interview with WSBK racer Leon Camier
We caught up with Leon Camier at the Ron Haslam Race School for a chat about his Fireblade race bike and how he rates his 2018 season
IT’S NO SECRET that the CBR1000RR’s infancy in racing was a tumultuous affair. With high-profile crashes for Guy Martin and John McGuinness on the roads, most of the public had written off the 2017 ‘Blade as an enfant terrible.
That didn’t stop the teams in WSBK and BSB from working at it though, in fact it just meant they had to work twice as hard to make the bike the winner the Japanese needed it to be. Fast forward to the end of 2018 and the Honda was starting to come good, with Camier knocking on the podium in WSBK and eventually finishing the season just outside the top 10 in 12th place.
After a busy day coaching the punters at the Ron Haslam Race School, we grabbed Leon for a chat about his season so far and also ask him what he thought of the road-going blade.
