AN exciting motorcycle collection owned by the late George Miller is set to go under the hammer after his family looks to sell the hoard.
The collection covers everything, from classic oddities to modern sports bikes and everything in between. There is even a large collection of motorcycle clothing, kit, and spare parts, all carried over from Miller’s business, George Miller Motorcycles.
The star of the auction though is sure to be a rare and almost unused Honda SP1 in commemorative Joey Dunlop, Vimto colours. The bike is number nine of 26 produced and was commissioned by Tippetts Motors of Surbiton in Surrey. The bike has recorded just three miles on its odometer, most of which will probably be ‘push’ miles, and as you’d expect is in as new condition.
Another interesting and rare machine going under the hammer is a 1981 Triumph Bonneville T140 ‘Royal Wedding Edition’, launched to commemorate the wedding of Princess Diana and Prince Charles. That machine has seen slightly more use, showing a recorded 2,817 miles on the clock, although for a bike that is nearly 40 years old it is still in surprisingly good condition!

“George’s passion for all things motorcycles is renowned and that shows in the variety of bikes he acquired that carry with them important historical links, from the origins of the ‘superbike’ to rare and limited edition models.”
The sale is set to take place on 31st July, with bidding taking place online in a timed format.
