MSV Trackdays to ban riders with multiple on-track warnings

Car and motorcycle trackday provider MSV Trackdays has announced a plan to log rider warnings with a view to banning repeat offenders

MSV TRACKDAYS has announced on its social media channels that a new system will be put into place to combat poor riding and driving standards.

The change will see the company track warnings given to participants at previous events when they are related to poor driving standards and etiquette. If the person continues to ride in this manner at subsequent events, MSV plans to suspend their attendance at their events.

The system works with MSV giving a participant a final warning in the form of a yellow card. Should a rider receive a further yellow card for the same type of riding, banning them from that event, or even subsequent one could be on the cards.

The full statement on the MSV Facebook page reads:

‘For next year MSVT will be able to track warnings given to drivers and riders for poor etiquette on our days. A cumulative system will suspend attendance for the minority of people that are not looking after others on circuit.’

‘Everyone can make a mistake which is why we issue a final warning (yellow card) and our preference is to do this in the pitlane or paddock rather than make a show of it, but this system will highlight those that are popping up too frequently for poor track etiquette. Working together, lots of eyes on track work better than a few – so please do make the host instructor aware on the day so they can monitor individuals more closely.’

The post also asks trackday riders and drivers to have their eyes and ears open when out on track, with it looking like it will be more than just race control keeping an eye on people’s riding.

MSV is the UK’s biggest race circuit operator, and hosts car and bike racing and trackdays at Bedford Autodrome, Brand Hatch, Cadwell Park, Donington Park, Oulton Park and Snetterton.
