French made Avinton motorcycles prove popular in oil-rich Middle East

FRENCH-made Avinton motorcycles are proving popular with bike-mad enthusiasts in Dubai when it went on display at the Dubati International Motor Show for the first time.

The brand was established in 2010, formerly known as Wakan motorcycles and has now gone on sale for the first time in the United Arab Emirates through a dealer who specialises in custom motorcycles.

The motorcycles are powered by a 1,640cc S&S V-Twin, producing 120bhp and 120lbft of torque. They feature  Keihin FCR 46mm flatslide carbs, 46mm adjustable Ceriani forks and Sachs rear suspension. It weighs in at under 195kg.

The range includes the Collector GT, Collector Race and Collector Roadster and each bike starts from £29,500.

Importer Tarek Azmi said there had been requests for Swarovski crystals and gold-plated covers. He said the company was willing to go with the “customer’s imagination” and make the bike exactly how the owner wants it.
