Electric Company Maeving Unleashes New Blackout Version of RM1S
Maeving has launched a new ‘Blackout’ special edition of its RM1S model and it will cost £8995

Maeving’s standard RM1S electric motorcycle has a new sibling, with the Coventry-based company unveiling a special edition called the Blackout.
The new limited edition model is available in just 300 units and is finished in a very stylish matt black paint scheme featuring grey striping and branding, as well as a matt carbon finish on the central battery cover.
The new model costs £1500 more than the standard RM1S and features a hub-mounted motor with a peak output of 11.1kW (15bhp) and 193Ib ft of torque. It has a quoted top speed of 70mph.
From there it is powered by two removable LG battery packs, each of which hold a capacity of 2.73kWh. In Eco mode, the bike’s suggested range is up to 80 miles, however, that figure drops quite considerably when kicked into sport mode with a capacity of around 52 miles.

To charge the battery you can remove them and plug them into a wall outlet, or charge them on the bike thanks to a standard cable. A full charge takes around 6 hours, although charging from 20 to 80 percent takes just 2.5 hours.
The bike receives a CrMo steel frame with non-adjustable 37mm front forks with 110m of travel and K-Tech Razor Lite shocks out back with 80mm of travel. The rear set-up includes preload and rebound adjustment.
The braking system incorporates a single 300mm front disc and a 180mm rear disc. Seat height is a reasonable 787mm. The bike, which can be ridden on a CBT, gets spoked wheels which are covered by Dunlop K70 tyres.
Delivery times for one of these bikes is thought to be around eight to 10 weeks.
