Ducati reveals World Premiere schedule

Ducati appears to have a lot planned for the rest of the year, with at least five Ducati World Premiere events planned. Find out when they are.

It’s teasin’ season! With the days growing shorter, fair weather riders tucking their bikes into sheds, and queues at biker cafes becoming tolerable, manufacturers are now eager to start turning our focus towards what they want us to buy next year.

Some manufacturers will just roll out a model at EICMA and hope the moto-press will notice. Ducati, however, has turned the process into a hotly anticipated annual event: the Ducati World Premiere.

I’m not exaggerating here. At a Ducati World Premiere event in Milan about a decade ago, an Italian moto-journalist elbowed me in the head to be able to get a better look at the bike on show. That may have been the first and last time anyone turned to violence for the sake of a Supersport.

The Ducati World Premiere isn’t a single event, of course, it’s a collection of dates. We’ve already had one: 12 September saw the Italian manufacturer pulling the covers off the new Diavel V4 RS and Multistrada V4 RS models. With both bikes offering up peak power outputs in excess of 177bhp, we’re inclined to say that ‘RS’ in this case stands for “Really Speedy.”

Related to that, we're almost certain that the Panigale V4 R is going to be one of the bikes revealed in this year’s DWP season. Ducati first pulled the wraps off its latest-spec Panigale V4 at the end of 2024. Since then, all eyes have been on when the Borgo Panigale brand would follow it up with its road-going homologation machine.

While the R variants of the Panigale V4 have always been road legal when they leave the factory, they are firmly aimed at the track. The purpose of it is to fulfil WorldSBK regulations, which stipulate that 125 units are produced by the first race, 250 by the end of the first year, and 500 by the end of the second year, for the bike to remain eligible for racing.

But there are five dates on the calendar. Even with one of those days having passed, it leaves plenty of space to fill. What else might we see?

Well, it’s been a few years since Ducati rolled out the (underappreciated) DesertX. Sure, last year saw the arrival of the DesertX Rally, but with Ducati having recently delivered its off-road-focused Desmo 450 MX it seems now might be a good time to refresh its proper adventure machine.

Speaking of bikes that have gone a few years without a refresh, it’s been four years since the iconic Monster had its 937 overhaul.

Meanwhile, the Scrambler platform celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. Sure, it’s had updates along the way, but now might be a good time to attempt a slightly new/different aesthetic direction. It also features an engine which can trace its roots back to the 1990s and the Paso/600SS era!

And while we’re just throwing ideas in the air, isn’t it convenient that there’s been recent hype around Ducati’s V21L electric race bike? We know that Ducati has plans to deliver an electric street bike at some point, could this be the year?

What about the dates, though?

Random guessing aside, here’s what we do know. At present, there are five dates on the Ducati World Premiere calendar. They are:

  • Friday 12 September
  • Tuesday 23 September
  • Tuesday 7 October
  • Thursday 23 October
  • Tuesday 4 November

But Ducati, being Ducati, it’s teasing that there may actually be more to come beyond that. Whenever that happens and whatever it delivers, Visordown’s the best place to learn about it.
