Pocher Models could soon be producing Ducati bikes to build at home

You could soon be building your very own motorcycle kit at home, thanks to Pocher and Ducati.

No that is not a real bike, it's a Pocher kit in 1:4 scale!

The premium scale model maker, Pocher, has joined forces with Ducati, hinting at new build-at-home models in the very near future.

If you haven’t heard of Pocher, it produces highly accurate model recreations of some of the most iconic vehicles on the planet. Previous big hitters from the Pocher range include the achingly beautiful Porsche 917 in Gulf livery, and the equally drool-worthy Lotus 72D Formula One car from the 1970s. It has also created some two-wheeled wonders, with a 1:4 scale Ducati 1299 Panigale (lead image) being the most recent.

Well, the precision model maker is set to do it again in 2025, after it confirmed it had signed a licencing agreement with Italy’s most famous motorcycle maker, Ducati. There is no mention of what the bike could be, but going by Pocher’s penchant for focusing on high-end, ultra-desirable vehicles, we wouldn’t bet against a new Panigale V4 being the focus of this latest endeavour.

Pocher’s kits are a bit like Airfix kits on steroids. Instead of hoards of plastic parts that require hours of filing, trimming, prepping and painting, Pocher kits come ready to bolt together (very little glue is used). They are also hyper-realistic, even recreating the moving parts of the vehicle that are hidden away beneath the bodywork. They even replicate the steering and suspension of the model in a truly authentic way.

Simply put, they are very nice things to build and then leave on a shelf, preferably out of reach of any curious children. And you’ll be wanting to keep this thing safe once you have built it, as it’s not likely to be cheap. The 1299 Panigale cost around £500 when it launched some four years ago, making it significantly cheaper than the real thing, but still a hefty chunk of change to drop on a trinket.

We’ll keep you updated on what this model turns out to be when the news breaks.
