BMW Motorrad France has done it again, this time unveiling a new R1300 GS Adventure Dark Edition to go along with the recent special edition F900 R and F900 XR models.

The F900 R and F900 XR special edition models received Frozen Grey (F900 R), and Aurelius Green (F900 XR) liveries, with both motorcycles using the German company's car division for inspiration.

Like those two models, the new R1300 GS Adventure Dark Edition is for the French market only, which was also the case regarding the special edition F900 GS and R1300 GS models that were revealed last year.

The R1300 GS Adventure Dark Edition will be sold in France for €22,900, which at current exchange rates converts to around £20,000. That also makes it €1,700 (around £1,470) more than the standard R1300 GS Adventure model in France. The new special edition variant will be available to buy until 30 June.

It includes a Triple Black style with black spoked wheels, heated rider and passenger seats, a high tinted windshield, tinted deflectors, black-painted scoops on the tank, and an alarm.

Just like the standard model, the R1300 GS Adventure Dark Edition gets Dynamic Cruise Control as standard, as well as other features such as Dynamic Traction Control, ABS, four riding modes (Eco, Rain, Road, Enduro), heated grips, and additional LED spotlights.

Alongside the R1300 GS, the standard Adventure model is currently one of BMW’s two most popular motorcycles. In terms of total sales in 2025, the R1300 GS Adventure was the top-selling model with 33,570 units sold, compared to the R1300 GS’ 32,555.

Both models were also very popular in the UK throughout 2025, although it was the GSA that spent most months at the top of the adventure sales charts. The GSA was the UK’s best-seller in seven out of 12 months last year.
