Overall Review

The most amazing superbike in existence. My mate has ridden 8,000 miles on his this year and has not broken down yet! It is expensive to run though because everything is special and the fuel light comes on after 65 miles when he riding it hard. It sounds so good that i follow him for miles even when it is wrong direction.

Strengths

Sounds glorious.

Weaknesses

My mate Ian won't let me ride his. They are £35k plus 2nd hand. They have made too many (1500) so they will not be a good investment for a while yet.

Overall Review

Had mine for around a year now. No mechanical issues except for the standard voltage regulator fry-up. I don't know if it's the mystique or the passion of the thing but I've never ridden anything that makes me feel like this does. You really can't stop grinning. If you can find one buy it. If it still has 16" rims swap them out for 17"'s and if you are going to track it I'd advise a set of cheaper race fairings. You won't regret it. They will probably never do anything like the Desmo again, certainly not without all sorts of CPU's to keep things in check. It's raw, rare and it will fry the inside of your legs at traffic lights...but it really is the greatest thing on two wheels. It also helps you sort out who really knows their bikes or not. Parked amongst a group of bikes those who know will seek it out, passing glances go out the window and out come the cameras. I've had people lay on the ground to look underneath it, come back with groups of friends to take photos, ask me to start it, kiss it, ignore their wives, girlfriends or children..even get out of their cars at traffic lights to get a closer look....and everyone respects it...there's an aura about it that's hard to explain. Best thing I ever did in bikes...and I've done some good things.

Strengths

The Sound It's so sexy you want to sleep with it Massive power and feels like a 250 It makes you grin...a lot.

Weaknesses

It's not for beginners If you get it wrong your checkbook will hurt Runs hot Twitchy as it gets all the power down Throttle is snatchy, clutch immediate, rear brake fades. ....none of this matters

Overall Review

i have just taken my desmocedici out for an 80 mile ride and it is unbelievably gutless. it wibbled and wobbled its way round and although the brakes sort of work they are not in the least bit necessary as even a slightly underinflated tyre will bring its miserable, rusting carcass to a grinding halt. hang on, did i say desmoccedi?. sorry i meant my hongu 125 shitty shopper. easy mistake
