Video: Motorcycle-mounted hit man opens fire on OAP couple

Dramatic CCTV footage shows botched shooting in Bolton

GREATER MANCHESTER Police has released dramatic video footage of what they believe to be a bungled underworld assassination attempt, which has left an elderly couple fearing for their lives.

Let's make it clear: these guys were using a motorcycle but they are not bikers, they give us a bad name.

The footage, caught by local CCTV cameras in Great Lever, Bolton, shows a man firing several shots at the home of Kenneth Foster, 71, and his wife Josie, before making an escape on the back of a motorcycle.

Despite being showered with glass during the gunfire, Mr and Mrs Foster were unhurt but have moved out of their semi-detached home, situated on a quiet suburban road, to a secret address.

Yesterday, as Greater Manchester Police issued footage of the terrifying incident, Detective Chief Inspector Paul Hitchen said: "We're still trying to establish exactly why this couple was targeted, but at this stage it is a mystery.

"The couple are very shaken by what happened to them and it is fortunate they were not injured. They are currently being supported by specially-trained officers."

The gunmen struck at 9.45pm on Sunday as the couple were watching television.

"I'm determined to find whoever did this and we're doing all we can," concluded DCI Hitchen. "A dedicated team of detectives is working exclusively on this incident."
