Vespa to celebrate 80th anniversary with four-day extravaganza in Rome
Vespa is gearing up for what it calls “the largest celebration” in its 80-year history next month.

Vespa is set to host a four-day extravaganza in June as part of its 80th anniversary celebrations, which will include major exhibitions, a Grand Parade, and live music.
The celebration, also known as “80 Years Of An Icon”, will be held in Rome from 25-28 June. The event will begin with the ribbon-cutting ceremony and the opening of the Vespa Village at 1pm local time.
This will be followed by an official presentation of the Celebratory Coin, issued by the Ministry of Economy and Finance and minted by the Istituto Poligrafico e Zecca dello Stato, as well as the official philatelic postmark ceremony by Poste Italiane.

The celebrations will begin to ramp up on day two when Vespa Clubs take part in the European Vespa Rally Championship and the Gymkhana World Championship.
Participation in the Gymkhana World Championship is open to all riders who are members of a national club that is affiliated with the Vespa World Club for the current year. There will be live music accompanying the racing.
On Saturday, 27 June, Vespa is set to host its highly-anticipated Grand Parade which will take place in the morning. The parade will ride through some of the most iconic places in Rome, before a treasure hunt takes place in the afternoon. The evening’s activities will feature the Vespa World Club awards ceremony for the Sport and Tourism championships.

The final day of the event will include a “parade of the rarest and most precious Vespa models”, according to the Italian company.
The village will then close at 3pm local time, although music will be played until the end of the day.
Vespa clubs from more than 48 countries are expected to attend the four-day extravaganza, while Vespa fans are also invited to attend as the event is open to all members of the public.
