MotoMondo has been named as the official importer and distributor of Ultraviolette electric motorcycles, for both the UK and the Benelux region.

MotoMondo already works with a number of brands, including QJ Motor, Moto Morini, Mash Motorcycles and Royal Enfield. Ultraviolette, though, is a slightly different proposition, being that it only produces battery-powered bikes.

The first bike to land in the UK will be the F77 Mach 2, a sporty-looking naked electric bike, with a motor that delivers 38bhp and 74lb ft of torque. The top speed of the F77 is claimed to be 86mph, while its 10.3kWh battery pack is said to provide it with up to 144 miles of range. Like many electric bikes, the F77 boasts a host of interesting features, such as central locking, AI-powered real-time diagnostics, motion alerts and crash detection.

Another interesting quirk of the bike is its ability to A1, A2 and Full A licence riders, thanks to the way it has been homologated. That means all a rider would need to jump on the bike is take a CBT course, leaving them free to then ride a bike that would trounce most petrol 125s in terms of performance.

One thing the F77 doesn’t have on its side is its price, as at its introductory price of £8,499, it’s already starting life at around two or three thousand pounds more than some popular 125cc machines. Once the introductory period is up, the F77 will rise in price to £9,399, making it more expensive than Honda’s incredible CB1000 Hornet.

The Ultraviolette UK website is up and running now, and you can configure a new bike here.
