Italian company Trackting has just launched its One smart tracker in the UK, which enters the fold full of quality features, and varying battery life cycles.

Chances are if you’re a rider in the UK, you’ve either been the victim of theft yourself, or know someone who has.

It’s an issue that consistently rears its ugly head, but when steps are taken, or in this case a device has been launched in the UK to try and avoid such scenarios from happening, then that can only be a good thing.

Trackting is an Italian company that has over 15 years of experience developing GPS and IoT (Internet of Things) solutions. Specifically, the brand began developing anti-theft tracking systems for vehicles when its CEO, Claudio Carnevali, had his own motorcycle stolen.

The device is said to have a battery life of up to six months if used in standby mode and can be fitted at home within minutes, according to Trackting. If you use the device in standard mode you will get three months of use out of it before needing to recharge.

The One smart tracker works by automatically self-arming when the owner walks away from it with the wireless key fob. It then disarms when the vehicle owner returns and the key fob is back in range.

The device does not require the rider to press any buttons, nor do you need to enter any codes that you’re likely to forget at a later date. All you need to do is secure the tracking device on the bike (that can be done under the seat), add the fob to your bike keys, and Trackting does the rest.

Trackting says the device “doesn’t track or record your ride when you have the wireless key fob with you. When you ride your bike there is no location, speed or movement of any kind tracked, this only happens when the key fob is not in range.”

Now, in terms of alerting you to any danger, if an unauthorised movement occurs, the One system will not sound an alarm. This is to stop the thief from knowing that the bike is tracked. However, it sends a notification and calls the owner directly.

The device will then instantly activate live GPS tracking, showing direction and speed on the free Trackting App. The bike’s owner can then react with “one-tap functions in the app to call the police or share the vehicle’s GPS coordinates”, according to Trackting.

It will even work in places that don’t have GPS signal, such as garages. Instead, the accelerometer will detect movement and notify the owner, while updating GPS data as soon as the signal is restored.

Speaking about the device, Tracking CEO Carnevali said:

“Trackting ONE combines Italian design with advanced IoT technology to give riders and drivers total peace of mind. It’s smart, simple and always by your side.”

The system can be used in over 100 countries and is priced at £129 in the UK. Customers can buy the smart tracker at Sportsbike Shop, J&S and Infinity Motorcycles, as well as Amazon UK.
