Shoei and Michael Rutter Team up to Announce Replica X-SPR Pro - But there’s a Catch
If you’ve ever watched Michael Rutter tearing down Bray Hill and thought, “I’d love one of those lids,” now’s your chance!

Shoei UK has teamed up with the TT veteran and BSB Team Owner, Michael Rutter, to launch a limited edition Michael Rutter X-SPR Pro.
Rutter is a fan favourite at the TT, and his bikes are arguably the best-looking in the paddock. Matching the aesthetics of the bike is his lid, carrying the same distinctive design he's campaigned for years. Road racing and Rutter fans will now be able to own just that helmet. But this isn’t a replica, painted by a robot on the other side of the world, as each helmet will be hand-painted in the UK by Rage Designs, the same crew that paints Rutter’s actual race lids. It’ll even come finished in his full 2025 TT livery, personal sponsor decals and all.

Each X-SPR Pro comes numbered, with a dark race visor (track use only, obviously) in the box, a certificate of authenticity, and the man’s own signature scrawled on the shell. Think of it less as merch, more as a wearable bit of TT memorabilia.
Speaking about the release, Rutter said:
“This is the exact helmet I’m racing in this year – same paint, same spec, everything. Rage Designs do a cracking job, and every lid’s got that proper hand-finished feel. We wanted to do something special, not just stick my name on a box. It’s the real deal.”

The catch? There’s no general release. Pre-orders are open now and run until midnight on Sunday 22nd June, with helmets sold exclusively through MichaelRutter200.com. The price? £999.99 plus postage, with worldwide shipping available. Delivery is slated for September, although as with anything involving paint, post, and perfectionism, that may shift slightly.

Each helmet will be numbered in the order it’s bought, and if you miss the window, that’s it. No second batch, no dealer stock, no regrets.
For the uninitiated, the Shoei X-SPR Pro is the Japanese firm’s flagship racing lid, worn by other names like John McGuinness and Dean Harrison. It’s ECE 22.06 certified and FIM-homologated, with a shock-absorbent AIM+ shell, multi-density EPS liner, a Pinlock-ready CWR-F2R visor, and enough aero trickery to keep your neck muscles intact at 200mph.

Whether you’re a TT nut, a Shoei obsessive, or just fancy something special on the shelf (or on your head), this is a rare opportunity to get your hands on a helmet as close to a factory rider’s as you’re likely to find.
But don’t hang about, once June 22nd rolls around, that door slams shut.
