The Isle of Man TT is set to hit a global audience thanks to Amazon MGM Studios acquiring a Brad Pitt and Channing Tatum film, along with a four-part docuseries about the legendary motorcycle race.

Tatum is not only producing but also starring in the project, with production companies involved being Free Association (Tatum and Reid Carolin), Plan B (Brad Pitt), and Entertainment 360. Reid Carolin is directing from a script he co-wrote with Jason Keller (of Ford v Ferrari fame) and Bryan Johnson.

The companion docuseries was filmed during the 2024 TT races and offers a 4x45-minute cinematic exploration of the event’s human stories. It was produced by the same team, with input from Box to Box Films (known for Drive to Survive) and Mediawan, a leading European studio. The docuseries promises exclusive access to riders and behind-the-scenes moments, aiming to capture the motivations, risks, and emotional realities of competing in the TT.

The Isle of Man TT, the world’s oldest continuous motorsport event, predates Formula 1, MotoGP, and World Endurance racing. The course uses public roads and sees racers reach speeds close to 200mph. Widely regarded as the world’s greatest motorcycle race, the TT already has a global appeal among bikers. This deal could make it a household name regardless of whether the viewers ride or not.

Paul Phillips, Head of Motorsport for the Isle of Man Department for Enterprise, said the partnership with Amazon MGM and Hollywood will “put the event on a truly global stage” and marks the next phase in the TT’s digital broadcast strategy.

Both the film and docuseries are expected to land soon, although no specific date has been finalised.
