Go on board in full 360-degree glory with Peter Hickman

Jump on board with Smiths Racing BMW track and road racing star Peter Hickman in full 360-degree camera glory at Snetterton

Peter Hickman - Smiths BMW

We love a good 360-degree camera here at Visordown and we’re also flag waving fans of Peter Hickman, a rider that can take any machine and ride the veritable nuts (and bolts) off it.

So pair them together and you can imagine how much we are enjoying these videos he recently posted to his Hicky60 YouTube channel…

The Smiths Racing rider fitted the camera to his BMW S1000RR during the Snetterton 300 round of the British Superbike Championship and as you can see it gives us a privileged view of the physicality that goes into chucking a race-tuned Superbike around a circuit.

Indeed, for us mere mortals who won’t be getting a knee or elbow down around Snetterton, this is a great chance to see how it’s done by one of the best in the industry.

At the very least it’s worth watching just to tune your ear to that sweet, sweet sweet soundtrack so by all means ensure the volume is very much up for these…

Hickman will aim to reach the BSB Title Showdown for a fourth consecutive year in 2020 with the Smiths Racing team, as well as look to defend his myriad of road racing crowns.

For 2020, Hickman will receive official BMW Motorrad support for the first time on the roads with the Senior TT – which he missed out on due to technical difficulties in 2019 – the big prize he is aiming for. In addition he will race a BMW in the Superstock class, plus a Yamaha R6 in the Supersport category.

Now if we could make one special request for the year ahead, could you please keep this on the bike for a lap at the Isle of Man TT. That’d be swell…
