IT’S got a GIVI badge on it, weighs just 1,350g and it’s not a super-lightweight top box.

Which means it can only be a super-lightweight carbon helmet, just introduced by the firm better-known for its luggage boxes and bags.

GIVI already makes a range of helmets but the new 40.5 X-Carbon is the first one with a full-face carbon shell.

It comes in two shell sizes to permit an internal size range of XS to XXL and has a ‘high performance ventilation system’ plus an ‘anti-allergenic’ removable and washable liner.

It’s got an integral dark visor, a D-ring fastener and a removable nose guard, and accepts a Pinlock anti-mist visor insert.

A composite-shell version, called the 40.5 X-Fiber, is also available.

The X-Carbon comes in ‘matt red’ or ‘neon yellow’ and costs £385.90.

The X-Fiber come in ‘neon yellow with black graphics’, ‘matt titanium and neon yellow’, ‘white and red’ or ‘matt black and white’ and costs £249.90.
