Kymco offering free Datatool security starting in December

All Kymco motorcycles, scooters and ATVs will come with some added peace of mind this winter, with Datatool security fitted as standard and free of charge from December 2023 onwards.

The move will see any petrol-powered Kymco products coming pre-equipped with not one but two forms of Datatool security. The first item is the Datatool Stealth Tracker, which normally retails for around £300. It allows the owner of the bike to track its location in real-time via a smartphone app and notifies them of any unauthorised movement. The unit itself and its fitting to the bike are covered completely free of charge, although a subscription charge is payable by the customer - currently £119 for one year.

The second layer of security comes in the form of the Datatool DNA Security Marking System which can be quickly and easily applied to parts of the bike. This product uses security microdots, each of which features a unique code that links the part of the bike it is applied to back to its rightful owner. The microdots make life much tougher for criminals to sell parts to unwitting buyers, as the original origin of the part can be quickly traced back to the rightful legal owner.

Speaking about the offer, National Sales and Marketing Manager for KYMCO UK, Neil Keeble, said:

“KYMCO welcomes the strengthened partnership with our security business partner, Datatool.

“Both companies passionately believe in offering our customers a security solution for their peace of mind in tracking, and the DNA marking of a customer’s machine. The strength of our relationship with Datatool will be a huge benefit to our customers.”

UK Sales Manager for Datatool, Dan Balsamini, added:

“At Datatool, we take pride in our commitment to enhancing security solutions, and this collaboration with KYMCO marks a significant milestone in that journey.

“KYMCO is the first motorcycle manufacturer to recognise the value of our innovative Datatool DNA Security Marking System, by making it standard fitment on all their petrol-powered products.

“This partnership represents a shared dedication to providing customers with the highest level of protection for their models. We look forward to a fruitful partnership that will set new standards in model security.”
