Podium Debut for new Ducati Desmo250 MX
At the hands of Alessandro Lupino the new Ducati Desmo250 MX claimed a third-place finish in the Italian Prestige MX2 Championship

Ducati’s rise up the ranks in motocross continued at the weekend, as its recently revealed Desmo250 MX race bike claimed a podium finish on its debut in Italy.
The Team Beddini Factory Racing machine managed the feat at the Ottobiano round of the Italian national championship, in the second moto. The rider, Alessandro Lupino, had a tough time in the first race, after being taken out by another rider and eventually limping his stricken machine home in eleventh place. Wasting no time in the second race, Lupino was fifth out of the first corner and ran as high as second before eventually finishing the race in third place behind Valerio Lata (first place) and Julius Mikula (second place).

Speaking about the Desmo250 MX’s debut podium, Lupino said:
“I’m happy once again, we did a great job, and I have to congratulate the team at Ducati, who performed a miracle. The Desmo250 MX has only been running for three weeks, and today we came for a test day. However, if I hadn’t been taken out, we could have secured two second-place finishes. As a rider, I’m pleasantly surprised to have made it onto the podium and to already have such a competitive bike on our first outing.”
Lupino sits in third in the standings with 290 points, with the next round of the championship set to take place at the Mantova circuit on March 29 and 30. It’s the same circuit where, a year ago, Lupino first completed riding the Desmo450 MX.
