KTM looks set to reveal a new 189bhp hyper naked
KTM’s new Brabus 1400 might only be a matter of days away from being revealed.

KTM could be set to roll out its most powerful Brabus model to date, with this year’s EICMA show rumoured to be the setting for its official launch.
For those of you more familiar with KTM’s naked models, and less so its ultra-premium Brabus bikes, you should know that the new 1400 R Signature Edition is going to be based on the 1390 Super Duke R Evo.

It will replace the current 1300 R Masterpiece Edition as the newest model in the KTM Brabus family, and is expected to produce 189bhp, and 107 Ib ft of torque thanks to its 1,350cc LC8 V-twin engine.

It’s not just the engine that is likely to be shared between the new Brabus and 1390 Super Duke R Evo, as the same WP semi-active suspension that’s housed by the latter is expected to be found on the new Brabus.
The new hyper naked will likely comprise a tubular frame made of chrome-molybdenum steel and an aluminium single-sided swingarm.
A new Brabus 1400 model was first teased earlier this year, but with KTM going through its well-documented financial troubles around the same time, hype around the new model was somewhat lost.
Then came a second pause in production for the Austrian company, and like many bikes it had planned to unveil sooner, the new Brabus was likely impacted by that as well.
So what would availability and price look like for the new Brabus 1400? Well, if we take the 1300 R Masterpiece Edition as a guide, its price of £43,999 will likely be surpassed by the new, and more powerful model. The R Masterpiece was launched in just 50 units, so we would expect something similar with the R Signature Edition.
