New LS2 Zirconium Evo jacket blends practicality with CE-certified protection

LS2 has been busy unveiling new helmets in recent months, however, its newest bit of kit is a new urban jacket priced at just £179,99.

LS2, which is well-known for producing budget-friendly helmets, has just revealed a new urban jacket called the Zirconium Evo, which blends practicality with CE-certified protection.

According to a press release from the company, the new LS2 Zirconium Evo jacket is designed for both “riding and everyday wear”.

It goes on to say that “too often, riders face a choice between proper protection and practicality, ending up with kit that spends most of its time bundled under a desk or stuffed in a pannier”.

But LS2 wants to bridge that gap, and to do so the new Zirconium Evo jacket combines stretch softshell and ripstop outer fabrics. It claims to have an 8000mm waterproof rating and a breathability rating of 5000g. Additionally, a removable thermal liner and detachable hood offer quick adaptability based on the conditions.

The urban jacket also features two chest and sleeve vents that provide adjustable airflow while riding. A large rain tunnel flap and inner water outlet system are part of the setup to manage potential moisture build up effectively.

The front zip features a titanium semi-automatic lock for secure closure purposes, while wind-stop cuffs, an adjustment cord at the hem, and a soft fabric-lined neoprene collar should allow for a more comfortable and better fitting jacket.

The lightweight stretch softshell construction, according to LS2, “means the jacket moves naturally with the rider, on and off the bike”.

With regards to protection, the Zirconium Evo meets Class A certification and comes with removable CE-certified elbow protectors, which feature two adjustable positions. External shoulder protectors are also included, while dual-function inner pockets can accommodate optional LS2 CE chest protectors. There’s also a pocket for the LS2 851 Level 2 back protector.

The LS2 Zirconium Evo is available in sizes S to 5XL, and comes with a price of £179.99 (includes VAT). Customers have the choice between two colours which are Blue/Black/Hi-Vis Yellow and Black/Red.
